The work was produced in response to a project working with the Central Saint Martin’s Study collection. A 3D scan was made from one of illustrator Noel Rooke’s (1881-1953) engraving tools. The  reflective surface of the tool resisted the scanning process and resulted in a partial and incomplete 3D file. This new object is re-animated to re-enact Hito Steyerl’s work ‘STRIKE’: now absent of the artist. In Steyerl’s 2010 original work, the artist takes a chisel and strikes a flatscreen monitor, rendering it technologically obsolete in an act of direct resistance and refusal against labour.
