The publication was produced during my time researching in the Architectural Library at The Cosmic House during the winter, spring and summer months of 2024. It accompanies the exhibition ‘Hold All Holes’. The title is taken from a letter sent by architect Terry Farrell to his clients Charles and Maggie Jencks early in the construction of The Cosmic House. Hold All Holes is written in two sections positioning reflections on the research process alongside descriptions and experiences of stereography. Either section can only be read according to the physical orientation of the book. Passages are interspersed with a number of quotations in red from Charles’ writings, inspired by ‘An Internal Dialogue: Architect vs Critic’; a text written by Charles Jencks shortly after completion of The Cosmic House. The 1985 article is conceived as an interview, with Jencks dividing himself into two authors and identities: the architect and the critic. The first 50 editions include a removable cover that folds into a stereoscopic viewer.
