Two Estates (elegy for the interior)

A misplaced concrete slab tells a story of The Brunswick. The monologue unfolds in parallel with Michelangelo Antonioni’s 1975 film The Passenger; which uses an establishing shot of (the then) newly built Brunswick Centre. In the film, journalist – David Locke (played by Jack Nicholson) – assumes the identity of a deceased man. In a similar case of switched positions, a concrete slab is accidentally relocated from the exterior of The Brunswick into its interior promenade following the redevelopment of the Centre in 2006.
